Hi ChibiBako Family,

I wanted to reach out with a transparent update regarding current order processing before any possible decisions are made so everyone has a heads up just in case.

Unfortunately, Shopify has placed a hold on payouts from our new website while they review the account. This means that although orders are still showing as paid on the storefront, Shopify is currently not releasing any of the funds to us, which has temporarily stopped us from being able to purchase shipping labels and continue fulfilling orders.

This review began after I canceled a customer’s order (at their request) after they accidentally used the wrong card so they could re-order using the correct card. The new order was placed successfully, but shortly after, Shopify automatically flagged the store and locked all payouts. I have been actively appealing this decision for about a week now and am pushing as hard as possible for them to release the funds. 

Below I have attached screenshots showing the locked out account and emails from Shopify. 

This is also why I’ve been quiet for a couple of days — I’ve been working nonstop behind the scenes trying to resolve this.

To prevent any further delays, I have now moved ChibiBako over to Etsy so we can continue operating without disruption and will never operate through Shopify again.

At this point, if Shopify does not release the funds soon, I may need to cancel and refund the pending website orders so that no one is left waiting any longer. If that happens, you would be more than welcome to reorder through Etsy immediately. As of right now, Shopify is claiming to not release any of the funds from the new shop until June of 2026.

I am truly sorry for the delays and stress this has caused. After everything that happened with the first shop, this has been extremely overwhelming — but I promise I’m doing everything I can to make it right for every single customer.

If you would like me to cancel and refund your order right away so you can be one of the first to reorder through Etsy, just reply to this email and I will take care of it immediately.
